15 'facts' that are not true
Hey guys.
So as someone who spends a lot of their time on the internet, I know how easy it is to believe stuff that's online. So today I am listing 15 'facts' that are just not true.
1. Christopher Columbus did not think the Earth was flat. He never once said that and believed that the Earth was round like many other people of his time as it was common knowledge for about 200 years before he set sail.
2. Irregardless is a word. Along with words such as 'selfie', irregardless has been added to the dictionary because that word was used so much.
3. Video games don't cause violence. There have been many studies on this topic and they all pretty much conclude this: there have been links with people being more aggressive straight after playing a violent game but no evidence to suggest that all players are generally more violent if they play video games.
4. Girls play video games just as much as boys. Gaming is often thought to be a male activity. In reality 45% of game players are female.
5. The web and the internet are not the same thing. The internet is a massive network of networks, a networking infrastructure. It is an information-sharing model that is built on top of the internet. The web, however, is an information-sharing model that is built on top of the internet. So basically, the internet makes the web possible.
6. Jesus was not born on December 25th. The Bible never mentions December 25th being the date of Jesus' birth. According to studies, Jesus was more likely to have been born in September.
7. Shaving does not cause hair to grow thicker or darker. It just doesn't.
8. Hair and nails don't continue to grow after death. The shin just recedes giving the appearance of growth.
9. Redheads are not going extinct. Neither are people with green eyes.
10. Sugar does not make children go hyper. So go have all the chocolate you want!
11. Chewing gum does not take seven years to digest. It is pretty much indigestible so it will pass through without a problem.
12. People do not only use 10% of their brains. We actually use nearly all of it (even if it is not all at once).
13. Cracking knuckles does not cause arthritis. There have been no correlations between people who crack their knuckles and people who have arthritis.
14. Bats are not blind. They can see through their eyes but they also sense things around them
15. Vaccines DO NOT cause autism. So PLEASE vaccinate your kids!
