Hey, guys! It's that busy time of year again. The run up to Christmas. Now if you have never experienced putting on Christmas shows, concerts and performances then this may seem quite strange to you. But for me, the run-up to Christmas is stressful. Going from rehearsal to rehearsal. Fitting practice between homework and revision. Normally losing my voice or getting a sore throat from the amount of singing. Rushing around trying to organize big events like a Christmas concert at the end of the term. This year is worse, though. I am in year eleven so I have to do mock exams. Right on top of all of the performances that already proves stressful. Now I know that I can do all my homework, revise, take tests, practice solos and ensemble pieces and do concerts, but I am still worried. These next couple of months are going to be difficult. I am probably not going to have much spare time and, when I do, I will probably be tired. But that doesn't mean I don't want ...

Hey guys, Today I went to the opening day of a local college. I have been thinking a lot recently of what A-levels I would like to do and what college I want to go to. Visiting this college has taught me some things that are very valuable. Okay so prior to visiting the college, I had already met some people teaching there. By this, I mean that they had come into our school various times and talked about the college. I had also already visited the science department of the college with the school for an day of science. About two weeks ago, I was given a prospectus and after looking through it I came up with some ideas of possible A-levels. Hey Guys I have always liked Peter Pan. The boy in green always excited me and as a child (and still sometimes now) I left my window open, hoping that Peter and Tinkerbelle would fly in and take me to Neverland. But recently I have been thinking if there is a deeper meaning of why I am so infatuated with this character. I am about to start year 11 - GCSE year. Honestly, I still feel like I am twelve and I don't feel ready to take my exams. Year 11 will be the most stressful and important year of my life so far and I am scared. I am scared of taking my GCSEs, scared of leaving my school and my friends and scared of growing up. Maybe this is why I have always loved Peter Pan... I don't know what I want to do with my life. Hello So like I said a couple of blogs ago, I have been really busy. Just like I predicted it was a lot of fun. I got to do so many cool things with my friends but I also did some things to improve myself. Work experience is one of those things. I did my work experience in my local hairdressers. Now, if I am honest, I am not the girliest person. I don't wear makeup very often; I only own black jeans and t-shirts because I don't know what goes together and I rarely make my hair look nice. But I wanted an insight into a small business and I wanted to meet and interact with new people without being thrown into the deep end. You see, the hairdressers I worked at I have been going to for years so I already knew the workers. This is good for me as it meant that I wasn't too anxious about the staff and I only had to conquer meeting new clients. Hey guys I have recently read the book Of Mice and Men and decided that it may be useful to some of you to have the plot overview... Of Mice and Men was written by John Steinbeck in 1937 and is considered one of his finest works. The story follows two American men named George and Lennie.George is small with dark, sharp fetures and Lennie is very tall with a shapeless face. Lennie has a mild mental disorder which means that he has to rely on George for security and guidance. Hello So I haven't blogged in over a month, what's up with that? Well, if I am honest, I have been and will be doing a hell of a lot of things. Next week is half term and after that things start to get busy. We have mock exams (basically end of year tests) for 2-3 weeks after half term which is obviously stressful enough. The week after that I have work experience (which I am hoping to blog about afterwards). Then it gets interesting. I am going to go on a school trip to London for two days to do some awesome stuff like get a tour of the Globe Theatre! I will also hopefully go on a day trip with the history department the day afterwards. On that Thursday it is sports day then on the Friday I have a modern dance exam and will (hopefully) be going on yet another trip, this time with the music department. Hello In England, the school year is split into 3 terms and 6 half terms. At the end of each term there is a two week break. At the end of this break I like to do a few things to get ready for the new term. 1. Sort out my pencil case. At the end of the term, I am usually left with a pencil case full of pens that don't work. So I just swap out the old ones with new ones. The last thing you want is to go back to school after Christmas with 7 pens that have all run out. 2. Re-organise my school stuff. I put all of my books in one place, stock up on equipment, put revision in folders etc. 3. Tidy my bedroom. Completely sort it out. I get rid of all of the things that I don't use or don't need and re-organise everything else.This only needs to be done 3-4 times per school year. 4. Get a lot of sleep. After all, it is the holidays. I tend to loose a lot of sleep during the school week so I try to get as much sleep as humanly possible in the holidays. 5. Quickly review...

Hey guys My birthday is on Wednesday and it has made me think a little about growing up. A couple of years ago I would have been ecstatic for my birthday, counting down the days on my calendar and wondering what presents I was going to receive. But this year I haven't really been doing that. I have been more focused on the important exams going on and things that I have to get done that I just haven't thought about my birthday at all. Also, people always ask you what you want for your birthday. As a kid, it would be the same thing: toys that I had seen recently on TV and more Bratz dolls. It's funny to think that just four or five years ago, my Mum would make me sit down a month before my birthday and list all the things from the Argos catalogue that I would like. I would hand write two sides of A4 on all of the presents that I would like, complete with the order number and price. Dear Mum, I want to take this time today to thank you for being my mum. As of late, I have been attempting to show a little more gratitude but I always seem to forget to thank you for, well, just being you I guess... Thank you for supporting me everyday. You always ask me if I have had a good day at school and you always remember if I have an important exam so that you an ask me how it went. Hey Guys! It's Valentines day. Yet another time of year when the shops guilt you into buying overly priced rubbish in order for them to make profit. ' Your girlfriend will love this single red rose for just £10!' they say enticing you into their charm. For me, Valentines day is just another day. You should be loving your significant other all year long, not just on the 14th of February. If you want to then call your boyfriend/girlfriend over and have a date night. Or you could spend the day with your friends, have a sleepover and order pizza. Or just spend the day alone and treat yourself - watch a movie, play your favourite games and binge watch that show you like. Hey guys In 2015, one of my new years resolutions was to 'read, read, read' which didn't exactly go to plan. Now in 2016 I have made it one of my goals to read a little everyday. When I was about 11 or 12, I was obsessed with reading books. At school I would be reading in the mornings, at break and lunchtimes and generally whenever I could. At this time I was also really interested in writing stories (I even set up a Wattpad account). I want to go back to that time. Over the last couple of years I have increased the amount of time that I spend online. This means that I no longer spend all that time reading novels and writing short stories but instead pointlessly scroll through Tumblr learning absolutely nothing worth wile. Now I'm not saying that I am going to stop social media completely at all, I just want to start reading more. Hey guys 2016 is upon us and for me this year has already been quite interesting. Here is a little run down of the past two weeks: I spent new years day just chilling at home and I also watched The Sound of Music for the first time in years. I spent the day with my family which was really nice. We started school on the 4th of January. Getting back into the swing of things was a struggle as I had to wake up at 7 not 10... Unfortunately for me, the first week back was filled with test after test which meant I spent most of my free time revising. On Sunday it was my baby sister's first birthday. Oh how time flies!
